As you might have seen, I travelled to Dubai over the Christmas/ New Year break and boy do I love this city. I will be sharing quite a few stories and places with you over the next few weeks which hopefully might inspire you to visit Dubai or stay for a few days as a stop-over before you reach you final destination. There is no question, Dubai is all about luxury, extravagance and glamour. It has a real ‘wow’ factor to it and is absolutely one of my favourite places to travel to.

Thanks toQuintessentially Lifestyle, I was given the opportunity to stay at the Versace hotel which is the epitome of luxury.  The hotel features hand painted ceilings, precious marbles, and of course the iconic Versace home collection. The hotel is reminiscent of a 16th century Italian Palace and not a single detail has been missed in this Neoclassical masterpiece.

My heart missed a beat as I stepped into the breathtaking lobby of the just opened hotel.  WOW!  I felt as though I was no longer in Dubai and I had been whisked away to Milan, where one would normally expect to find such style and sophistication.

Like a child in a candy store, I stood for a moment to take in my surrounds, feeling a nervous excitement, as though I was about to embark on an adventure in a far off land. I heard this most authentic Italian voice say; “Buon Giorno Lydia e Benvenuti a Palazzo Versace”, I turned and of course was extended in true Italian style, a kiss on both cheeks.  Marco Frare  –  who heads up Marketing and Communications for the brand and looks, smells and speaks so wonderfully Italian, welcomes me and escorts me onto a private tour of this absolutely amazing hotel that really takes the Versace brand to another level.

In the driveway you pass a remarkable head of Medusa, Marco told me it was made up of almost a million hand laid pebbles- that’s right a MILLION! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to chat and share stories with you about the hotel and its design which is really what sets this place apart from the others.

The lobby has one of the largest stone mosaic floors with approximately 1.5 million tiles. To say it is magnificent is an understatement. The pattern is taken from the Versace heritage and is the replica of an original Gianni Versace design.  They explained it was designed in conjunction with the renowned Italian mosaic company Fantini, who worked on most of Gianni’s homes including all the mosaics in his palatial home in Miami (which is on my bucket list of places to visit and stay!)

The hotel has three different pools to choose from. My favourite was overlooking the Dubai Creek as it reflected Italian design and reminded me of Lake Como in Italy. It’s amazing to think you are in Dubai in the middle of the desert and feel like you are in Italy.

At the end of my amazing experience, Marco invited me to spend two nights to really immerse myself into Versace hotel culture and it was certainly a hotel stay I will never forget. Design is something I am passionate about and the attention to detail at the Versace Hotel is second to none. In Dubai where ‘more is more’ a visit here or a stay is a must. It truly is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed.

My special thanks goes out to Quintessentially Lifestyle Australia and Dubai who crafted my itinerary of amazing experiences and opened doors with introductions for the duration of my recent journey to Dubai. If you haven’t experienced the world’s leading concierge and lifestyle management service as yet, then you aren’t living. Quintessentially took care of all the arrangements, introducing me to Culinary Masters, Iconic Hotels and world famous luxury brands who all opened their doors and welcomed me with open arms, providing me up close and personal 1-2-1 experiences that I will cherish forever. I can say that the world of Hotels, Fashion and Jewellery are certainly to a very different level in Dubai and I was privileged to have been invited into the inner sanctum to experience it first-hand.

Absolutely everything was pre-arranged, and executed so perfectly and without any effort, that allowed me the time to really enjoy every step of this fully crafted journey.

Thank you to Marco Frare for his extremely charismatic charm and time he spent introducing me to the latest destination under the Palazzo Versace  hotel brand and Heinrich Morio, General Manager who extended such a generous offer, inviting me to experience the full Palazzo Versace  luxury hotel experience, to Lisa Psaras and the Lifestyle team at Quintessentially Australia and a special thank you to Takhmina Akhmadzai – Lifestyle Manager in Quintessentially Dubai and Tafseer their incredible personal driver who was on hand each day to deliver and collect me from each destination.
